HELP! BACK THE BILL THAT COULD SAVE THE NHS – ACT NOW!

“Unless there is a change of government, the NHS in England will be completely destroyed by 2020.”   Lord David Owen, March 2014

Scotland and Wales have already reversed marketisation and restored their NHS without massive upheaval. England can too.

There is a Parliamentary bill that could effect this. Former Health Secretary David Owen supports the NHS Bill 2015 (see www.nhsbill2015.org).

Members of the public from all walks of life and well-known ‘names’ from across the spectrum are Backing The Bill.

———————————————————————————————————————————-

It’s now of paramount importance to get at least 100 MP’s committed to the NHS Bill 2015’s policies in time for inclusion in the Queen’s Speech on May 19th.

So before Election Day on May 7th it’s vital for members of the public to get personal email letters from candidates across the parties confirming their commitment to Back The Bill.

Candidates will do this only in response to personal letters (NB. block and/or pro-forma letters will simply receive pro-forma replies which will not be effective).

Letter writers can find their candidates on www.nhsbill2015.org/take-action. They should return their responses, with a copy of your original letter, to www.nhsbill2015.org/responses.

Further information can also be found on the NHS Bill 2015’s campaign site www.nhsbill2015.org/resources and below.

WRITE PERSONAL LETTERS TO YOUR LOCAL CANDIDATES ASAP.

GET THEM TO CHASE UP THE CANDIDATES FOR A WRITTEN REPLY BEFORE ELECTION DAY.

GET ANYBODY YOU KNOW TO DO THE SAME.

ACT NOW!

The Bill proposes to fully restore the NHS as an accountable public service by reversing 25 years of marketisation.

This is vital given that none of the mainstream parties propose to fully de-marketise the NHS. This means that privatisation will continue, reinforced by international trade and competition rules.

See this 17-minute TED talk (www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cz5dl9fhj7o) by NHS policy expert Professor Allyson Pollock outlining the peril facing our NHS if we don’t get the incoming Government to introduce the legislation to save it.
